We often find a Mercury Venus aspect amongst writers, singers and those who have a beautiful voice. This includes genuine talent and something you should take seriously if you are born with it. Although the same configuration is found amongst writers, singers and those who possess verbal eloquence, you may have all or just one or two of these qualities.If any of the above applies to you, then you may be born with a positive Mercury-Venus aspect.
In this issue, we will discuss the aspects between Mercury and Venus that you may be born with i.e. in your natal chart and have given the Client numbers of our Subscribers who have it. In case your Client # is not listed but you feel that the above mentioned points apply to you, then maybe the aspects are “wide” and you can still benefit from this article if you follow our advice and pursue your talents. A Mercury Venus aspect is just one aspect of verbal eloquence or singing ability. There are many other aspects e.g. Mercury Neptune gives a soothing quality and a healing voice. So don’t be discouraged if your Client number does not show up. In fact, Mercury Venus aspects only enhance your ability shown by other planetary combinations. The transit of Venus over your Mercury only lasts a few days, so unless you are born with a Mercury Venus aspect, verbal charm or talent for singing for such a short period will not amount to much.
Mercury represents communication, speech, thinking and your reasoning ability. It also shows the quality of your voice and the way you speak and hear. The type of intellect and wit is also determined by Mercury (by sign and aspects with other planets) e.g. slow, fast, original, philosophical. Mercury shows the intellectual side of your nature as well as your manual dexterity.

Venus represents the aesthetic and romantic side of your nature. It symbolizes your appreciation for the arts, beauty and love. Venus rules the signs of Taurus and Libra, representing the side of your nature which responds to luxury, love and aesthetics.

Mercury and Venus are both very close to the Sun and can never make an aspect with each other than a conjunction, semi-sextile, semi-square or sextile. If you are born with any aspects between Mercury and Venus, then you may have some of the following talents:
• Verbal charm, diplomacy and eloquence. Usually soft spoken.
• Ability to gently persuade.
• Poetic and flowery writing ability (many novelists and poets are born with this).
• Avoid being just a smooth talker or a con artist even though it will be very easy for you to do so.
• Humor especially if Mercury is in Air signs i.e. Libra, Gemini or Aquarius or Fire signs i.e. Aries, Leo or Sagittarius.
• Not good for hard sciences but excellent for art and literature.
• Excellent for acting and music.
• Sales ability especially a talent for customer relations.
• Beautiful voice and singing ability.
• Graphic arts and cartooning.
• Teaching of art and drama.
• Sentimental talk if Mercury was in Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces).
Although you may have the talent for some of the above mentioned points especially art, poetry and singing, it may be difficult for you to do something tangible with it or to focus for long periods of time. Mercury Venus aspects make one procrastinate when it comes to using their talents. It is excellent for literature and art but not the best for professions which require less social interaction e.g. research in science.
You may need someone (who recognizes your talents) to gently push you to continue with your innate talents and achieve something productive with it. If your Client number is listed, then at least start utilizing some of your gifts nature has given you and stop making excuses.
