How Astrology Works
This article mainly applies to Western (Tropical) system of the zodiac where zero degrees is the interception of the celestial equator and the Ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun) which is also the highway of all the planets.
What Natural Phenomenon or Mechanism Underlies Astrology?
What I suspect is that it has something to do with the obliquity of the ecliptic and starting from zero Aries (always on 21st Mar), the first 20 degrees are like the fresh start of everything, flowers start blossoming and the whole energy is like a pioneer. Aries also seems to reflect the head area and people who have Aries in their 12th house are definitely susceptible to brain related problems ranging from migraine headaches to astrocytoma.
The last 30 degrees i.e. from 330 to 360 on the ecliptic is the sign of Pisces. This sign seems to reflect the storms and ocean related mishaps. Sun is in Pisces every year from end of Feb till Mar 21st. Moon goes into Pisces every 28 to 29 days, and whenever it is there it seems to coincide with news about storms in the ocean and as soon as it goes into Aries the storm drifts away and subsides!
For example, the Moon was in Pisces when the Titanic sank. As I am writing this, yesterday it was in Pisces on 31st Mar 2011 and there were terrible storms and tornado warnings in Florida and elsewhere. By tomorrow evening it moves into Aries and the danger from ocean will be gone! I am surprised that no other astrologer in the world has written about this and I originally wrote about it in Oct 1986 and it still works! As they say, instead of learning the tricks of the trade, learn the trade!
